Slab City Sammies: Fresh, Flavorful Sandwiches on Whidbey Island

Hands down the best sandwich shop on Whidbey Island. The food is fresh and good size portions!! The staff is absolutely amazing the friendliest! owner, Steve and his handy helper Tennille are the best!! fun place to go!!

Stopped by to grab lunch while visiting friends to see Fort Casey. Grilled cheese was delicious according to my friend. I enjoyed the roast beef. My sandwich was not lacking anything and extremely delicious.

For basically the same price you'd spend for fast food, you can get an incredibly fresh sammie! The arugula is crisp and sharp, the meat is perfectly marinated, the sauces are always the right touch. Probably the healthiest option within 5 miles of the base too. I'm really glad they added the Caddy to the menu; it's a personal fave (cucumber + brie + balsalmic <3). Plus they excellent chowder every Friday. Staff is incredibly kind and approachable. The storefront is mid, but that's it's own appeal: all the focus is on the food, and it never disappoints.

Delicious food, excellent customer service and priced well. I got the cesar wrap and it was perfect. It was the right size to fill you up without leaving you stuffed and sluggish. The wrap had just the right amount of dressing, the chicken was very flavorful and the croutons offer a wonderful crunch. All around a wonderful experience!

I often swing by for soup of the day and enjoy a fresh side Caesar salad! The folks operating this lovely little place are so kind and down to earth; they treat everyone like long-time regulars. I highly recommend both tourists and locals check it out!

We are traveling in Washington State and happened upon this sandwich shop. It's off the beaten path but totally worth the trip. We had the ham sammie, the roast beef sammie and the tuna melt. All full of meat, cheese and veggies, and delicious. Its a take out place, which is what we wanted for a picnic in the park, and the guy was friendly with great customer service.

Went here after a family member recommended and was shocked at the size of the chicken caesar wrap! It’s seriously huge and tastes DELICIOUS. Honestly the best chicken caesar wrap I’ve ever had. Service was very quick and friendly. We also tried the spicy carrot and tomato soup which was also really good, especially when you dip the wrap in it. Will definitely be back!!

Delicious giant sandwiches. Very friendly owner and workers. A little bit off the beaten path but has its own private parking. Amazing fresh made sandwiches sliced to order. I had pastrami and a french onion soup. An amazing delicious French onion soup you can tell from scratch. Sandwich was on point nice thick cut pastrami.
